Star DJ ZTrip to Appear at Inaugural Event?
President-elect Barack Obama has promised to bring change to Washington, and he might already be making good on the promise, at least on the party circuit. A Washington Post spy was at the ZTrip concert at the Rock and Roll Hotel on Friday night, when the star DJ and Obama supporter announced that he might be back to play at an inaugural ball.
Our spy gave us the following report:
"Toward the end of the set, he was talking about how he had been doing a lot of fundraising for Obama, and that on Election Day, had played an official Obama party in L.A. with Sheppard Fairey doing live art (the guy who did the big stylized portrait/poster of Obama).
"Trip said something to the effect of the deal isn't finalized, but it's looking good that he'd be out here again for the inauguration.
"If it's true, and he's playing an official ball, it would be something. He's a pretty major DJ, and would definitely be more inline with the hip-hop president than the usual bands they pull in off the state fair circuit for these things."
