D.C. Tourism Group: Hotels Rooms Still Available
Destination D.C., a tourism organization, says reports of hotel rooms being sold out in the Washington area aren't exactly accurate. In fact, the group says, there are roughly 1,400 rooms still left within a 30-mile radius and you can have one for prices ranging from $100 (60 miles from D.C.) to $1,000 a night (in the city).
The group said in a news release today:
By simply making one phone call to Destination DC’s toll-free number, 1-800-422-8644, travelers can connect with a local travel expert to learn which hotels still have availability, where the hotels are located and what rates they may expect to pay.

Rooms have been available for quite sometime since the election -- they're just trying to stir folks into a frenzy. I've been keeping a list of hotels with availability here:
