District to Test Alert System Jan. 11
The District government will test its new mass notification system near the National Mall between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Jan. 11, including four generic test voice messags and one tonal test, the city's homeland security and emergency management agency said today. The test appears to be tied into the inaugural swearing-in dress rehearsal on the Mall early Sunday.
