Local Inaugural Celebrations Will Also Be Fundraisers
Washingtonpost.com's D.C. Wire and Maryland Moment blogs posted some new information about chances for residents of the two jurisdictions to celebrate Obama's election.
For Marylanders, the official party is sold out, but a fundraiser this Friday offers an alternative. The party at the Corcoran Gallery of Art will be hosted by Attorney General Doug Gansler and U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings (D); the funds raised will go toward state Sen. Jamie Raskin.
Meanwhile, it looks like Mayor Adrian Fenty to headline his 6 p.m. Jan. 18 bash, which will be used to raise money for D.C. public schools.

Where is the Fenty ball? Is this the one that was to be held at the Armory?
