Obama to Host Neighborhood Inaugural Ball

President-elect Barack Obama's planning committee announced today that he will hold a Neighborhood Inaugural Ball at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center Jan. 20, with tickets either free or at a low price. This will be one of the 10 official balls that Obama is scheduled to attend after he is sworn-in earlier that day. A portion of the tickets will be set aside for District residents, the committee said, but it did not release details on when the tickets would be available or how to get them.

As far as I can tell, PIC has released NO information regarding how to purchase any of the tickets for the 10 Official Balls. All I have found is that in the Post's Inaugural Watch it states that the tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis but the only contact information available for PIC is their mailing address. Could the Post look further into this lack of information offered by the PIC? All those interested in attending an official inaugural ball would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

You have to be invited to an official Ball-I don't know about this one at the convention center but usually official ball ticket offers are sent to you- you can't ask for one.

Hopefully, they will give some of the folks volunteering for the Inaugural a shot at getting tickets. It would be a great way to show appreciation.
