Public Service Announcement to Air Tuesday on National Mall
A public service announcement calling on citizens to help restore the National Mall will air on Jumbotrons Tuesday before Barack Obama's swearing-in ceremony, the Presidential Inaugural Commitee said today. The project is co-sponsored by The Trust for the National Mall.
In the 30-second spot, a male voice will read the following script:
Where you stand today, giants have stood to deliver calls of action.
Millions have raised their voices to call for change.
The ideas that guide our country have taken root.
This is hallowed ground, but America's front yard is in disrepair.
From where you stand, you can make a difference.
Help restore it by supporting the Trust for the National Mall.
Text "Mall" to 74471 or visit americasfrontyard.org
The announcement, which can be viewed here, also will feature clips from President John F. Kennedy's inaugural address and Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech. Sign up to help restore the Mall here.
