Sources: Springsteen to Perform at Inaugural Welcome Event
The Presidential Inaugural Committee has been mum, but sources tell the Post's Lena Sun that Bruce Springsteen will perform at Barack Obama's inauguration week welcome event Jan. 18 on the National Mall. The event will be on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and open to the public for free.
The Boss has been a bigtime Obama backer and they campaigned together in Cleveland during the general election.

So I wonder which other celebrities who publicly badmouthed McCain will get kickbacks? Obama sure is intent on sharing the Chicago politics wealth with the rest of the country.

Here's the complete list, by party affiliation:
Democrats: YoYo Ma & Special Guest Misha Rostropovich; The Beatles (opening act Prince and the Revolution); Fleetwood Mac with Pink Floyd; The Who with the Dave Matthews Band; Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash; Duke Ellington with Dizzy Gillespie; Ella Fitzgerald and Lena Horne.
Republicans: Sophie Tucker; The Marine Corps Pipe Band; Hank Williams Jr. and the Monday Night Football Orchestra; The Blue Angels Flying Step-Dancers; Andy Williams with special guest Perry Como.
Yep, you missed some great parties. Shouldn't have cancelled your subscription to the Post.

Maybe Michelle could do a pas-de-deux with Rev Wright. Her churlishness, wealth, and dislike of country is well matched to Bruce's

This is fantastic news!! I've always wanted to see the Boss -- sometimes it's really great to live in the District.

I recall in 2001 the Post had a picture of Ricky Martin performing with Bush trying--not so successfully--to dance along.

Is this Bruce Springsteen solo (meh!) or Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (yeah!)?

As usual, the true beleivers are being churlish. Bruce Springsteen is a great American who always speaks up for working class Americans. He will be performing to honor the Obamas, who are also great Americans. You Repukes should remember your mantra from 2002 and onward, criticizing the president (elect) is treasonous. What goes around comes around, but your sense of irony is so atrophied, I doubt you will ever catch up.

This is going to be broadcast on HBO. People will need a free ticket, no announcement on how to get them. There's also a free concert on MLK Day where Aretha Franklin will perform, at the Millenium Stage, and a Kids Concert that will also be shown on Disney.

As I recall, Andy Williams was a close personal friend of Robert F. Kennedy and performed at his funeral. You may have put him in the wrong list.
