Season Thurs Far: Johns Hopkins

Johns Hopkins (3-5)
Highlights

* First half against Princeton on March 1 was devastating.
* TFBO2F loved the old school uniforms against Duke.

MVP
D Matt Bocklet,
senior
Arguably one of the few players who emerged from Durham with his reputation intact, if not enhanced. His goal that ended a 9-0 Duke run was perfectly placed. Added six groundballs and has 40 this year, second-highest total on the team. If there's a groundball in the defensive end, he seems to be the only longstick capable of getting it.

Keep an eye on: Freshman MF Matt Dolente. Has won 25 of 56 faceoffs (44.6 percent). If he improves, that would do wonders for Stephen Peyser, who has taken more than 130 faceoffs while also playing regular shifts on the first midfield line. Though right now, that's a big "if."

Projected NCAA tournament seed: Not seeded, probably will face a No. 7 or No. 8 seed in the first round.
Directions to Foxborough: TFBO2F hates to answer a question with another question, but is there anyone who would look forward to drawing Johns Hopkins as a first round opponent? There is talent, and at least some of the problems seem to be very correctable, including how much standing around the offense appears to do.
