Season Thus Far: Georgetown

Georgetown (7-2)
Highlights

* 11-7 win over then-No. 1 Duke on March 22 marked first win in program history over the top-ranked team.
*18-10 win over then-No. 10 Delaware on March 12 marked the most goals the Hoyas had scored against a top 10 team since an 18-5 win over then-No. 10 Hofstra in March 1997.

MVP Thus Far:
MF Dan Vinson, Senior
Has won 45 of 87 faceoffs (51.7 percent). Hoyas had won 27 of 73 faceoffs (36.1 percent) before he became the starter.

Keep an Eye on: Sophomore MF Chris Schuville. Had the crucial groundball that led to the winning goal in overtime against Navy. Came to Georgetown as an attackman and was one of the top wide receivers in the state of New York as a high school senior.

Projected Seed in NCAA tournament: 4
Directions to Foxborough: The good news: Georgetown can beat just about any team in the country. Bad news: It can lose to just about any team, too. But if I were Georgetown I'd like to stay away from Notre Dame and UNC--teams with good faceoff men and hot goalies. Playing Cornell in Ithaca would be no fun. Oddly, a rematch with either Maryland or Syracuse--Georgetown's only two losses--might do the trick.
