Update on Cannon

Georgetown senior A Brendan Cannon, the team's leading scorer, will know his status for Saturday's game against Penn State later this week after he left a 13-7 victory over Rutgers with a sprained ankle. The good news for Georgetown is that there was no structural damage to Cannon's ankle, according to Coach Dave Urick.

Cannon was injured in the first half against Rutgers. He watched the second half from the sideline, on crutches.

"He rolled it pretty good," Urick said. "We'll know more by Thursday or Friday if he'll be able to play this weekend. But it's not a long-term injury."

Cannon has 23 goals and 21 assists for the Hoyas (9-3, 5-1 ECAC).
