From Foxborough
FOXBOROUGH, Mass.--Arrived at Gillette Stadium a little while ago. There were signs all over Logan Airport in Boston welcoming fans for the 2008 Lacrosse Championships. And fwiw, the sign as one enters town reads "Foxborough," even though the maps read "Foxboro."
Frankly, this argument is as tired as the Duke fifth-year thing. To paraphrase the late author Raymond Chandler, I don't yell at people who can't hear me. The NCAA says Duke gets a fifth year. My editor says to use Foxborough. That's enough for me.
Anyway, there was a barbeque for the participating teams and some media last night at the stadium. Apparently, Bill Belichick spoke at the barbeque and eschewed his normal attire and wore a pink tie.
Also--as Henry James once wrote, the two finest words in the English language are "summer" and "afternoon." (Got that off NPR this morning.) And that's what it will be like this weekend--sunny and high 60s tomorrow, sunny and high 70s on Monday.
Will have some preview stuff up shortly. Duke is about to do its walk-through, followed by Syracuse and Johns Hopkins. Virginia has opted to do a walk-through at Harvard.

Congratulations on your new position but, I will miss your coverage of Navy football.
Hopefully, Wagner will stay where he is or, maybe the Post will hire him to replace you.
