It's Graduation Day!
You're not going to hear much about housing news from me today; my mind is elsewhere! My son is graduating from high school this afternoon. It's big, happy milepost for him and for my husband and me. Our youngest child will be off to college in the fall; we will be off to the empty nest. At least that's what people tell me. It seems to me that nest tends to have a revolving door these days, and right now I'm fine with that.
The occasion has prompted us to do a bit of sprucing-up around the house. Nothing fancy, just paint and such. Part of it is simply preparation for a house full of visitors, but I wonder if there might be echoes of the old nesting instinct that kicked in before our daughter--the elder child--was born. We'll see if the instinct fades once the relatives head home. Meanwhile, congrats to Stephen and the entire class of 2009. Your parents are proud of you.
