Chat today at 1 p.m.!

Please stop by -- or send your comments ahead of time -- for today's Real Estate Live chat at 1 p.m.

Weekend reading: This Saturday's Real Estate section features an Inhabit piece by Nancy McKeon. She takes us through a home in Northwest Washington that was remodeled in stages -- following the definition of "green" as it has evolved over the years. And we debut a new opinion column from Harvey S. Jacobs, who has long practiced real estate law and closings (and other types of law) in the Washington area. No worries -- Benny Kass will continue to write his Housing Counsel column as well. If you have questions for either Kass or Jacobs, you can send them to me at, and I'll forward them to the experts.

And check back later today for the Weekend Poll. These are non-scientific and not representative of anything official, of course, but I found it interesting that more than a third of last week's respondents said they would move if Washington regularly got the kind of snow we have received this year. And I think they mean it, too.
