HUD to study housing discrimination toward gays
The Department of Housing and Urban Development is launching a national study of discrimination in the sale or rental of housing to people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. "Our goal is to provide information -- to allow the dialogue to focus on facts rather than preconceived notions," said HUD Assistant Secretary Raphael Bostic, who is heading the study.

Sex parties? Bethesda is not zoned for that.
Oh, it's good to get a laugh from the news. I just read Paul Duggan's story about a neighborhood in Bethesda up in arms over the sex parties--apparently pretty edgy sex parties--being hosted by one resident at his home. And who stepped in to perhaps call a halt to them? A guy from the zoning department !

Trying out an alternative to iPhone's Zillow app
Sawbuck Realty's announcement that they've launched a web site that taps into your phone's GPS function to provide you-are-here real estate listings searches grabbed my attention. So I grabbed my BlackBerrry and headed toward the window, so I'd get maximum reception for my tryout.
