First the weather forecasters talked about "some" snow this weekend. Then they started throwing the "significant" word around. Now they're saying it could be five inches of the stuff. And on a weekend! To this Pennsylvania-born girl that's pretty exciting news. And yes I will be rushing to the store to stock up on groceries, because I always do at the end of the week. I even need to stock up on toilet paper. Honest, I do.

There's some movement on Capitol Hill toward extending the first-time buyer's tax credit. As reported by the Post's Dina Elboghdady, there is consensus in favor of a limited extension of the $8,000 tax credit. The latest version said to be favored in the Senate: Extended to home sales that go under contract by April 30 and close by June 30. A new, $6,500 tax credit would be available for buyers who have owned during five of the eight years prior to the purchase.
Team Germany--led by students from Technische Universitat Darmstadt--won top honors overall in the 2009 Solar Decathlon, the Department of Energy announced today. Second place, overall, went to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and third place went to Team California, which was a partnership of Santa Clara University and California College of the Arts.
