By Terri Rupar

Two suspects have been arrested in the death of a man whose body was found June 4 beneath bamboo trees in the Sandy Spring area of Montgomery County, the county police said.

Manuel Zelaya-Garcia, 31, and Mariela Vasquez-Melgar, 34, , were arrested Friday, the police said. They were charged with first-degree murder in the death of Manuel Guevara Lovo, 51, the police said.

According to information provided by the police, the two suspects and the victim all lived in the 9000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in the Silver Spring area.

Police said Lovo was found by members of a maintenance crew underneath tall trees. Preliminary results of an autopsy indicated that he had been stabbed, police said.

According to police, his body was discovered near a maintenance access road to the rear of the 18100 block of Slade School Road, which adjoins Brooke Road.
