2 pedestrians hit, critically injured in Laurel
Two pedestrians were hit by a car and critically injured Friday night in the city of Laurel in an apparent hit-and-run incident, authorities said.
The two, a 20-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl were struck about 8 p.m. on westbound Route 198 near Route 197, said Jim Collins, a spokesman for the Laurel city police.
He said that after the woman were struck, witnesses followed an automobile to a shopping mall in the area. The witnesses prevented the motorist from leaving, Collins said.
Police were interviewing the motorist late Friday, Collins said.
