2 Pr. George's Wal-Marts shut to check for damage
Two Wal-Mart stores in Prince George’s County were shut down Friday while authorities checked for possible structural damage in the wake of the recent heavy snowstorms, authorities said.
A spokesman for county executive Jack Johnson said water was leaking into a store in Bowie; he said an interior wall at a store in the Landover area showed signs of buckling. Both stores were closed until they could be inspected by structural engineers, said Jim Keary, a spokesman for Johnson.
He said it appeared melting and refreezing of heavy snow caused the problem at the Landover area store, which is on Annapolis Road. It was spotted about 8:20 p.m.

All the Walmarts look very similar [if not the same]. So if 2 look like unsafe buildings, what about the rest of them? Big cheaply constructed boxes with flat roofs.

The walmart at Capital Plaza is run by a racist male & female . They only want to hire Spanish or African Americans because they know they can pay them 6.75 a hour and then work the crap out of them . Then when these workers need time off they threaten them with " I will fire you if you can not work " but the thing is they just work a 56 hour week .I hope this store collapes and loses money big time .

You are full of crap. These people get paid so little because they aren't educated and/or don't speak English.

Walmart buildings are constructed VERY cheaply. They will build to the minimum standard and no further. If these turn out to be substantial, it might be worthwhile to revise building codes to require a stronger building.

They can close the ghetto WalMart in Capital Plaza. There products are much higher than the WalMarts in Arundel Mills and in Severn, Maryland.
