5-car collision at 15th and K NW

By Clarence Williams

A five-car collision a few blocks from the White House late Friday shut down two major thoroughfares as rescue personnel tried to extricate someone trapped in one of the vehicles.

The crash occurred about 11:30 p.m. at 15th and K streets NW and involved two taxicabs as well as a sport-utility vehicle, a sedan and a minivan.

The number of persons injured was not immediately clear.
