Adams Morgan water main breaks

By Martin Weil

An eight-inch-diameter water main broke Saturday evening along a principal restaurant and tavern strip in the Adams Morgan area of the District, authorities said.

Repairs began about 5:30 p.m. on the main which is on 18th Street between Columbia and Belmont Roads NW. DC Water said it estimated that work would be completed by 2 a.m.

DC Water said some customers may "experience a disruption" in service until repairs could be made.

Several businesses on the street said that they were open and unaffected by any water problems.

Interesting that is was not discovered until 5:30 pm, because water was bubbling up from a tree area on the sidewalk at 12:30 pm...

So Adushok - did you see that and not report it?

Because lots of people saw problems and assumed someone else report it - that's how it wasn't "discovered"
