Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon to resign

By Washington Post editors

Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon has entered an Alford plea to one count of perjury and has said she will resign from office effective Feb. 1, according to The Sun.

The plea means that Dixon acknowledges that prosecutors had enough evidence to find her guilty of charges related to not disclosing gifts from a developer doing business with the city.

Dixon will be sentenced to four years of unsupervised probation, and will be required to perform 500 hours of community service.

Oh sure. Lack of supervision is what lead her down the path to begin. Add 500 of "BS" service and this is hardly enough for someone who broke the public trust.

Well I hope she would resign. Good riddance to yet another LYING, SNEAKY, underhanded politician. Hopefully she will be stripped from receiving her pension. She should never be given a dime from tax payers, after all she STOLE from them, and as long as she pleaded guilty, she should not get anything, She most likely has taken a lot more then this, she just never got caught before. Let her suffer earning a living like the rest of us have to do. Just because your a politician shouldn't mean you are special. Although all of think they are.

I bet she has done a lot more than this. This is only what she was caught doing.

500 hrs of service and unsupervised probation - who got to the judge or the DA?

As an example for future Baltimore politicians, she should go to jail for a year.

You know, I think these politicians are actually getting a little fear of God in them! It's about time...and we will continue to hold their feet to the fire! Can't wait to get up tomorrow morning and see who else bites the dust!

Would this be Democrat Mayor Sheila Dixon?

It wasn't mentioned and I would hate to assume anything.

Four years of "unsupervised probation" and 500 hours of community service sounds like a sweetheart deal. Maybe the gifts were only valued at $100, or maybe someone else along the way received a "gift" as well.

Another democrat criminal gets away with a slap on the wrist. This was the Teflon Leprechaun O'Malley's girl. I am sure she made some kind of if you take me down I take the Governor down deal and is walking away from a lot more than we know.

Well I'll be darned -- the Wash Post forgot to mention that she is a Democrat. These darn typesetters you guys hire, sheeeeesh. I know y'all meant to write "Democratic Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon has entered..."

It is true that both parties are corrupt. But it is NOT true to say that they are equally corrupt – not by a country mile.

It don't matter, whether she is a democrat or a republican, what matters is that as always it's a colored person involved in corruption, and by the way, is this lady related to that no good former mayor of DC, named Sharon Prat Dixon, that cleaned house by taking a lot of tax payers money with her, and never did a good thing for the city. There you have folks, keep the faith and trust in your colored leaders.

Thank you eportillo655 -- I knew nothing about her color. Another example of the press concealing information from the public in favor of political correctness. If it were not for the internet the public would remain in the dark.

What the hell difference does it make if she's a democrat, republican, black, white, yellow, brown, male, female, gay, straight, or whatever. The fact is she admitted to having done what she was accused of.
