Former WJZ-TV reporter Dennis Edwards was arrested Wednesday on charges of assaulting his wife, the Baltimore Sun reported Thursday.

A woman told police she got into an argument with her husband, who she identified as Dennis Edwards. The woman said that the argument escalated until he shoved her down and banged her head on the floor, police spokesman Detective Jeremy Silbert said. She was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, he said.

According to court records, Edwards, 54, was charged with second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. He was released Thursday after posting $25,000 bond.

The woman, identified as Lisa Edwards, filed a protective order against him. He was ordered to stay away from her until a court hearing in January, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Obviously, Edwards will do anything to get hired as a reporter by a TV station.
