Caps fans asked to not honk horns after games

By Washington Post Editors

Capitals fans are being asked to stop a tradition: honking their car horns after a home win at the Verizon Center.

Fans have traditionally honked their horns beginning in the center's parking garage and continuing onto D.C. streets. But the garage has gotten noise complaints from neighbors and is now posting signs asking fans to stop the beeping.

The signs read, “FANS: As you leave the arena, please be considerate of our neighbors and use your horn only as a necessity. Thank You.”

Again we have a situation where the Liberals have moved into an area with a custom that existed before they arrived, but we, the fans have to comply with their wishes. Similar to those who move into an area in which an airport is nearby, who then demand that all airport noise cease.

I am going to continue to blow my horn. After all the Liberal is blowing his friend.

This is what happens when these sissified liberals move into the city.....Blacks may vote with the democrats,and have lots of problems, but they aren't like these sissies.

Should've thought of that before moving into an over priced condo next to the Verizon Center. Sorry, but the Caps are good, and the honking will continue, cause they keep winning! Wait til they bring home the Cup!

Wow - some folks are always looking for another thing to blame on liberals - to the point of absurdity. The neighbors complaining about the noise in"Chinatown" are the same NIMBY's who asked the city to move a bus stop because they could hear the noise when they were on their balconies. The Not In My Back Yard crowd crosses every demography and political spectrum and they are about as ridiculous as posters msg8568 and 123cartoon (completely appropriate name).

You have got to be kidding me. You people bought a condo next to a sports stadium and want people to stop celebrating the team's win? No beeping? I got a two word response: "Make me." What are they gunna do, start writing tickets? No way they could get even 1% of the people who beep. And even if they do its only a $25 fine.

@SofaKingCool2009: uh, no they weren't.

Remember the "neighborhood" in 1996? the disgusting ghetto that was revitalized when the Verizon Center was built which caused condos to go up afterward?

How in the hell is this a political issue?
Last time I checked the real estate prices around the Verizon Center, it is mostly in the upper echelon of income levels, how that equates as being a liberal bias? I don't know.
But most hockey fans are mainly white middle class schleps who absorb about 2 minutes of yelling and screaming on Fox News and determine that every one who doesn't agree with the white middle aged men who are afraid their donuts, guns, and beer will be taken from them, are liberal. Well life to some has more meaning, and want to live in a better world for all, not just a world built on convenience and sound bites. Get a newspaper and read it every once in awhile.
You might be surprised what you learn.
Not just about what Agent 0 did last night.
But what is happening in the world around you NOT according to Glenn Beck.

All you low class Caps fans had better learn your place!

My neighbors and I are important people. That's why we bought these condos. How dare you disturb our investments and quality of life with your horns? You're probably all driving F-150s with Virginia license plates, too. Why don't you do the responsible thing and go buy a Prius or a Smartcar? Or even better, take the Metro. That's what little people like you are supposed to do.

Learn to respect your bettors, people! My neighbors and I are so much hipper than you, and we need a good night's sleep. We work hard at lobbying firms and Capitol Hill and government agencies each day. If you keep honking your horns, how can we be rested enough to make the laws that you "regular Joes" are supposed to live by?

Besides, they're mostly Penguins fans here anyway.

@tcal02: LOL!

Although there is something to be said for the F-150 not "suddenly accelerating" like the Prius.
