Child seriously hurt in fire in Southeast
A child was seriously injured Friday night in a fire in Southeast Washington duplex, D.C. fire officials said.
Both floors of the house in the 3100 block of Buena Vista Terrace were ablaze when firefighters arrived about 6:15, p.m., said Battalion Chief Kenneth Crosswhite, a spokesman. The child was extricated and taken to a hospital with injuries that appeared to be life-threatening, Crosswhite said.
One firefighter was also taken to a hospital with minor burns, he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No further details could be immediately learned.
