Shelters, cooling centers, emergency #s
As the storm cleanup continues, here is a guide to what's opened and what's closed today in Montgomery and Prince George's County as well as a list of emergency shelters, cooling centers and contacts for reporting fallen trees and power lines.
Montgomery County officials have opened two more shelters at Richard Montgomery High School, 250 Richard Montgomery Drive, Rockville and Seneca Valley High School, 19401 Crystal Rock Drive, Germantown. The shelter at the East County Recreation Center located at 3310 Gateshead Manor Way, Silver Spring remains open.
Officials remind people heading to a shelter to bring all medications and personal items with them. Also, no are allowed at emergency shelters except for service animals. Residents, however, should not leave their pets alone at home. Instead, they should call Montgomery County Animal Services at 240-773-5900 to make arrangements for pet care.
Cooling centers:(Prince George's County):
The Prince George’s County Department of Family Services will open cooling centers at: The New Carrollton Nutrition Center, 6016 Princess Garden Parkway in Lanham from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and the Camp Springs Senior Center, 6420 Allentown Road in Camp Springs from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. For more information call 301-265-8450.
Fire stations used as cooling centers will be open Monday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
The stations include:
Station 810, Laurel Volunteer Fire Department No. 1, Inc. 7411 Cherry Lane, Laurel.
Station 855, Bunker Hill Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association, Inc. 3716 Rhode Island Avenue, Brentwood.
Station 818, The Glenn Dale Fire Association, Inc., 11900 Glenn Dale Boulevard, Glenn Dale.
Station 820, Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., 14815 Pratt Street, Upper Marlboro.
Station 829, Silver Hill Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad, 3900 Old Silver Hill Road, Silver Hill.
Station 832, Allentown Road Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., 8709 Allentown Road, Fort Washington.
The following libraries scheduled to open at 10 a.m. have no power or phone service and will not open as scheduled: Kensington Park, Little Falls, Long Branch and Wheaton.
The following libraries will open at 10 a.m. as scheduled: Bethesda, Germantown, Quince Orchard, Rockville Memorial and Twinbrook.
Recreation centers(Montgomery County)
All Montgomery County Recreation facilities are closed today except for the Upper County Neighborhood, Germantown, East County Neighborhood and Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Centers and the Germantown Indoor and Olney Swim Centers.
All other Recreation sites are closed, including the main administrative office.
All summer camps, summer fun centers and Recreation summer classes are cancelled for today.
NIH offices (Region-wide)
Offices of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda are closed Monday because of the weekend storms:

• Rockledge 2
• 6610 Rockledge Dr.
• Democracy 1 and 2
• GDC Warehouse
• 6700B Rockledge
• 5635 Fishers Lane
• 9800 Medical Center Drive
Essential personnel still must report for work. All other Washington-area federal offices are operating as normal, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

Parks (Montgomery County)
The following Montgomery Parks facilities are open and Parks classes and programs in these facilities are running on schedule: Cabin John Ice, South Germantown Splash Park and Miniature Golf, and the Tennis and More and Week in the Park summer camps at Wheaton Regional Park.
Crews are working to restore power to all Parks facilities affected by the outages. To find out if a facility is open, Parks patrons should call the facility in advance to confirm operating hours. Here's a facility directory and updated information.
Montgomery College Rockville campus will be closed today. Takoma Park and Germantown campuses will be open.
Montgomery County’s Permitting Services will be closed to the public.
The Occupational Medical Service unit is closed and all appointments are cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.
Report Power Outages and Downed Trees:
To report power outages, call Pepco at 1-877-737-2662, , Allegheny Power at 1-800-255-3443 or Baltimore Gas and Electric at 1-877-778-2222.
To report “hot” wires or sparking wires, especially those across roadways, call 9-1-1.
To report downed trees in the public right-of-way, call 3-1-1 from within Montgomery County or if Montgomery County residents are outside the County, call 240-777-0311.
