Driver of disabled vehicle killed
Maryland State Police say one man was killed in a crash late Saturday on the Beltway, WTOP reports.
Officials say the driver was standing outside his disabled vehicle when it was struck by another vehicle. A passenger inside the disabled vehicle was seriously injured. The driver of the second car escaped injury.

It's important to note in your blurb that the car stalled in the (3rd lane of the) highway, not on the shoulder. Critical piece of info.
