Trooper injured in collision on Beltway
A Maryland State trooper was injured Wednesday night on the Capital Beltway in Montgomery County when the trooper's vehicle was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene, authorities said.
Montgomery County rescue workers were called to the outer loop of I-495, near the River Road exit, for the report of a collision of a police cruiser and a sedan -- possibly a Toyota Prius, said Capt. Oscar Garcia, a county fire department spokesman.
When the sedan kept going, the trooper pursued it briefly, but then stopped near the exit to the Clara Barton Parkway, Garcia said.
The trooper's condition was not immediately known. Maryland State Police officials declined to comment shortly after the incident.

Send him back to Mexico. If illegals weren't here, this accident would never had happened.

Looks like more and more hit and runs are being reported. Happened to me in June. What's up with that? Don't people stop when they're involved in accidents anymore?

I wonder how the DC area compares with other big cities in the number of hit and runs. There sure seems to be quite a few here in DC.
Since the general attitude of most people in the DC area seems to be "to hell with you," I wouldn't be surprised to learn that DC is #1 in the U.S. for the number of hit and runs.
The U.S. is supposedly the greatest nation on earth? I doubt that very seriously.

Paliceag
Barbara B. Ermler, of The Plains, was charged with reckless driving, negligent driving, failure to stop at an accident and failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle using its signals, state police spokesman Greg Shipley said.

Wow, that name looks like an illegal to me. What do you thing? So, still thinking it was an illegal who hit the trooper?

They're either drunk or high when they hit and run or maybe on their cell phones or even worse they are texting, or.......... driving with no insurance!!!!.

Of note, MD Troopers have a tendency, as do VAST, to pull in at an angle behind vehicles. Accidents happen and the Trooper should have made sure he was out of the traffic lane.
