Area university students targeted in robberies
Students at area universities have been the target of robberies in the last week, authorities say.
ABC 7 reports that four Howard University students were robbed in their off-campus apartment early Monday morning by six masked men. They demanded money, which one victim gave them along with her iPod and other valuables.
The Baltimore Sun also reports that two students at Towson University were robbed at gunpoint Monday when two men forced their way into their dorm room. One of the men was injured when he was struck with a metal crowbar.
