Body found at Fort Belvoir

By Washington Post editors

Army criminal investigators are probing the death of a man found in the woods at Fort Belvoir, a, Army installation in Fairfax County.

The body was found Monday evening, said Chris Grey, a spokesman for the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.

"We believe it's a soldier," Grey said.

Investigators are trying to establish a positive identification, and will have to notify family members before releasing the man's name, he said.

The body was found by military police, Grey said, but he declined to comment further.
