Arrest in 2004 slaying of Waldorf man

By Washington Post editors

A Virginia man has been arrested and charged with the Thanksgiving Day 2004 slaying of a 23-year-old Waldorf bartender, WUSA 9 reports.

Matthew Correll, 29, of King George, has been charged with first degree murder and attempted robbery in the death of Christopher Mader.

Mader was driving home from work after finishing a shift at Bennigan's restaurant when he was shot in the upper body.

The station reports that there is an ongoing investigation to identify others who may be involved in what authorities believe was a botched robbery.
