Arrest in D.C. fatal stabbing

D.C. police have arrested a man in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man who was found on a street in Northwest on Friday.

Police said they have charged Samson Alemayhu, 48, with first-degree murder while armed. Alemayhu is accused of fatally stabbing Assefaw Hagos.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Friday, officers from the 3rd District were flagged down by a person at the corner of 9th and U streets NW. The person directed officers to the sidewalk where they found

Hagos with a stab wound in the chest.

Hagos was taken to an area hospital, where he died.
