Arrest in Takoma Park break-in
A 43-year-old Silver Spring man has been arrested in connection with a theft at an abandoned Takoma Park apartment building, authorities said.
Tony James Malloy is charged with 1st degree burglary, theft over $1,000 and malicious destruction of property. Police said that on June 22 at around 10:48 p.m. they responded to a report of a break-in at an abandoned apartment building on the 8500 block of Flower Avenue.
When officer arrived they allegedly discovered Malloy carrying boxes containing valuable property out of the building. There was a broken window in the rear of the building where the thieves entered, police said.
Malloy was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
