Our earlier post:
Police found at one person in a car that was overturned in a frozen waterway in Northwest Sunday morning, authorities said. Police initially said there was at least one dead but have since backed off that report.
Just before 11 a.m., D.C. fire rescue crews were called to Rock Creek Parkway just south of P Street for the report of a car overturned in the water, authorities said. The caller told dispatchers the vehicle might be difficult to find because only one wheel was visible, said Sgt. David Schlosser, a U.S. Park Police spokesman.
Schlosser said one adult male was transported to the hospital in "grave" condition. Schlosser said the car was significantly iced over, meaning it had been in the waterway for some time.
