Mayor Adrian M. Fenty has declared a snow emergency in the District, starting at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
That means that you should not park along streets designated as snow emergency routes, which are posted with red and white "Snow Emergency Route" signs. Illegally parked vehicles are subject to a $250 fine and additional fees for towing and storage.
