Flag stolen from Fairfax bookstore

By Erica Johnston

A flag and its flagpole were stolen from in front of a Christian bookstore in Northern Virginia, authorities said.

The two items were torn Sunday or Monday from in front of Joy Unlimited in Fairfax City, the city police said.

The web site for Joy Unlimited said it is an independent store in its 35th year of business at University Drive and Main Street in the heart of Fairfax City.

A police bulletin gave no indication of who carried out the theft or why. Police said the store owner told them the items were taken by an unknown person or persons.

is there no human decency left in this country?
It's not just the flag and the flag pole that were taken, but the sacred honor of the community.
Flags raise high up the pole and carry our hopes and dreams into the sky.
they stand there as our tribute to all who have given their lives to this country and raise up our own goals and ideals.
And now, that flag, that pole, that hope, has been stolen by some swarthy criminals under cloak of darkness.
oh the outrage!
what brazen criminality!
what a slap in the face to all the decent, hard working Americans all over this great country of ours.
THEY STOLE A FLAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MarilynManson, carm down: it was a banner with the word "Joy" stitched on it.

Yes, it's theft.
Yes, they should not have done it.
Yes, they should be punished.

No, it wasn't the "stars and stripes."

OMG! it said "Joy"?

That's even worse then stealing the stars and bars.

Oh the Humanity!

What callous despicable evil creatures could of obscounded away with such a wonderful expression of Joy?

I bet it was a Belgian.
