Former Va. teacher sentenced to jail
Kevin Ricks, the former Osbourn High School teacher who admitted sexually molesting a 16-year-old boy, was sentenced Thursday to five years in the Prince William County jail.
Prince William County Circuit Court Judge WIlliam D. Hamblin suspended four years of Ricks's sentence, leaving him to serve one year. He will be credited for eight months already served. Because there is no parole in Virginia, all convicts are required to serve at least 85 percent of their sentences.
