The man, described only as 37 years old, had barricaded himself and a woman in a home in the 8600 block of Richboro Road about 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Hostage situation in Prince George's

Prince George's County police were on the scene early Wednesday of a hostage situation in a home in the Forestville area, where a man who said he had a gun was reportedly holding a woman captive, officials said.

Police were called to the 8600 block of Richboro Road about 10 p.m. Tuesday for the report of a reported domestic disturbance, said Cpl. Henry Tippett, a police spokesman.

Three women were inside the house when the incident began, but two of them were able to escape, Tippett said. No injuries were reported.

A man who said he was inside the home called media outlets and said he was holding a woman hostage.
