Man, 19, fatally shot in Wheaton
A 19-year-old man who was shot in the Glenmont area of Wheaton on Tuesday afternoon has died, Montgomery County police said.
Police are looking for two suspects.
Medics and police were called about 1:30 p.m. to a residence in the 1600 block of Hutchinson Lane, several blocks northeast of John F. Kennedy High School. They arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to a trauma center at a local hospital, where he later died, police said.
Police said in a statement that a preliminary investigation indicated that two people approached the home and made contact with the victim. At some point, one of the two suspects discharged a weapon, striking the victim. The two then fled.
Anyone who can provide information related to the death was urged to call the Montcomery County police Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
