Man fatally shot in Northeast D.C.
A man was shot in the head and killed early Friday on the border of some parkland in Northeast Washington, WRC-TV (Channel 4) reported.
Police told Channel 4 that the shooting happened about 3 a.m., near the intersection of 11th and Galloway streets on the northern edge of one of the city's Fort Circle Parks. Police are looking for a gray Chevrolet Tahoe that was seen near the shooting with two people inside. No additional information was available.
The park where the shooting occurred is a crescent-shaped green space sandwiched between South Dakota Avenue and Eastern Avenue, which marks the border with Prince George's County. The area is part of the chain of Civil War-era fort sites that form a ring within the boundaries of the District.
