Man found shot to death in Southeast

A man was found shot to death on a sidewalk in Southeast Washington Monday night, D.C. police said.
Police and emergency personnel responded to a call of a man shot at about 9:05 p.m. Monday in the 2600 block of Birney Place SE. The victim, a 37-year-old African American man, was dead when officers arrived, police said. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said they will identify the victim after his family is notified.
There is no information yet on a possible suspect.
