Man drinks, shoots foot, police say

By Washington Post editors

Baltimore County police say a 25-year-old man was drinking, which might explain how he ended up accidentally shooting himself in the foot, police say.

The Baltimore Sun reports that Donald Burshnick of Maine, N.Y., was in a home in Reisterstown early Wednesday morning along with other people. About 3:30 a.m., he retrieved a loaded rifle and tried to fire a shot into the floor. But police say he struck his foot.

Police say Burshnick gave varying accounts about what happened, admitting that he had been drinking.

Oh Rachelva, don't you see? He's from New York, but shot his foot in Maryland. Silly, silly Rachelva.

To Rachelva: *sigh* Did you expect the Post to actually READ these headlines before publishing them? Geez.
