New rule for phones, cameras in courts

Maryland Rule 16-110, which governs the possession and use of cell phones, cameras, computers, and other electronic devices in court facilities, will go into effect on January 1, 2011. Under the new rule, if a cell phone, camera, computer, or other electronic device is brought into a court facility, it is subject to inspection and may be used only in accordance with the rule and the court’s orders.
