Not guilty plea in Redskins cheer death

By Associated Press

A 32-year-old ex-boyfriend pleaded not guilty in the slaying and dismemberment of a Las Vegas Strip burlesque dancer and former Redskins cheer ambassador, who disappeared in December.

Jason Griffith's public defender, Jeff Banks, said Wednesday that trial was set Nov. 28 in Clark County District Court.

Griffith faces murder and other charges in the slaying of 31-year-old Debora Flores Narvaez.

He was a performer in Cirque du Soleil's Beatles show, "Love," at The Mirage resort-casino. He's now held without bail at the Clark County jail.

She was a performer in the "Fantasy" show at the Luxor resort. The Clark County coroner ruled she was asphyxiated.

Police say Griffith's roommate, Louis Colombo, told them Griffith killed Flores Narvaez and both men tried to dispose of the body by dismembering and encasing it in tubs of concrete.

No longer cheerleaders. Oh no. They're "cheer ambassadors." Please give them the respect that they deserve when they're bending over in front of you at halftime.

Thank yew.

@ TaxiDriver....had you been following the story from the beginning, you wouldn't have made such stupid comments! She was NOT a Redskins cheerleader. She worked for the squad. They purposely did not want to refer to her as a cheerleader because she never really was one. There IS a difference, moron.

aktotlykrzy, make sure you get your blood pressure meds refilled soon.

Blowing your spleen over the distinction between "cheer ambassador" and "cheerleader" is fairly bizarre and severely pointless.

Only an overzealous ex-"cheer ambassador" or former "pom pom diplomat" should have good reason to make such a big stink about this.

@Fedup...wrong on both accounts. I get annoyed at people who make comments and find fault with everything without having the facts.

"Rah! Rah! Sis-koom-bah!! aktotlykrzy can see your deepest flaw!!

"2-4-6-8! ATK won't let you equivocate!!"

(My faux cheers are patterned after '50s stuff my dad used to say.)

aktotlykrzy == "act totally crazy"? Sounds like a Gen-Y type of moniker, perhaps.

"I get annoyed at people who make comments and find fault with everything without having the facts."--atk

Well, I often play an insufferable fault-finding harpy with a dearth of facts to back me up, so I'll admit that I tend to deserve what comes to me.

Y'all 'bout as entertaining as the geezer gallery on the mupit show. Have you considered collecting string? I waxing the garage? Surely, you must have something better to do.

"... waxing the garage?"

Procrastinating by writing idiotic comments on news websites is my vice. Hey, it could be worse, based on what I understand of others' secret and quasi-secret vices.

Ms. Flores Narvaez really should have stayed here in Maryland, especially since our political and business leaders are really keen on turning the state into a casino fun zone. Las Vegas-style "burlesque" is probably soon to follow, if it isn't here already. Plus, Maryland is marginally safer than LV; we probably have fewer homicides here per capita.
