Officer injured in chase near Nats Park
A police officer was injured and a suspect was arrested in the neighborhood of Nationals Park Friday night in an incident that involved a foot chase and a scuffle, D.C. police said.
According to a preliminary account, an officer tried to stop someone on foot near First and N Streets SW a few minutes after 7 p.m. The person fled, and the officer pursued. Police took a suspect into custody on an assault charge, a police spokesman said.
The officer suffered injuries that were described by the spokesman as “very minor.”
