Pedestrian fatally struck by car in D.C.

A pedestrian was struck by a car and killed early Sunday on the Anacostia freeway in Southeast Washington, D.C. police said.
The incident occurred about 2:30 a.m.in the Anacostia area as the victim was walking on the roadway. She was struck by a car that was headed south near Suitland Parkway and exit 3 B, police said.
Identification was withheld opending notification of relatives.
