Police arrested a suspect in a Northeast D.C. shooting after a brief car chase that ended when the man crashed in Alexandria, police said.
The 39-year-old suspect shot another man in the leg near 60th and Dix streets at about 1:30 a.m., police said.
The suspect then fled in a BMW before crashing near Route 1 and I-495. A weapon was recovered from the man, police said.

60th and Dix streets NE to Alexandria VA. The most direct route would be Southern Ave to South Capital St to Indian Highway (router 210) to I-495 across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge to Route 1. Not exactly a brief chase.
