Police: Girl left in car while mom got high

By Washington Post editors

A Virginia woman is accused of leaving her 3-year-old daughter in a car outside a motel in Frederick while she used heroin inside.

Frederick police say officers were called to the motel about 7 a.m. Tuesday, where they found the girl alone in a car, strapped into a car seat.

Her mother, 34-year-old Marian Larman of Mineral, Va., was found inside a motel room, asleep in the bathroom. Suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia was strewn around the room, and police also found what they believe to be heroin in the car. Police say Larman had checked into the motel about 3 a.m., four hours before her daughter was found.

She's charged with leaving a child unattended in a vehicle, reckless endangerment and drug offenses.

Had to get high first. It was so good that she nodded off, with no child in mind. Hopefully they'll take the child and she won't have to worry about endangering another one. She could then just nodd off and die.

Likwise, they should also have no pitty on the man who left his infant in his car in Rockville, in the beating sun, while he worked out at the gym. I guess looking good took precedence over the child.

People involved in these critical neglect cases such as the woman and the man described above should be sterilized.

No one who deliberately endangers a child as these two, (the woman using Heroin, and the man working out) should be allowed to reproduce.
