Report: 2nd arrest in trooper slaying
A second person has been taken into custody in connection with the killing of Maryland State Trooper Wesley Brown, ABC 7 is reporting.
Prince George's County Police have scheduled a 2 p.m. news conference to announce a major update in the investigation into the slaying.
Brown, 24, was off duty and working security at an Applebee’s in Forestville when he was shot early Friday morning.
About a half-hour before the shooting, Brown had escorted a man out of the restaurant after he refused to pay his bill.
That patron was taken into custody Saturday night, and has been identified by police as a "person of interest." Authorities have not identified that man.
