Shooting, carjacking suspect caught

D.C. police say they have apprehended the suspect in the Friday shooting and carjacking in NW D.C.

Officials said he was apprehended just over the line in Prince George's County after a short chase.

The incident began shortly before 4 p.m. when police say the suspect shot three people, killing one, in the 500 block of Madison Street NW.

Authorities say an adult female, juvenile male and juvenile female were shot in a Madison Street house. Police say the juvenile female was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other victims were taken to hospitals.

After the shooting, the suspect carjacked a MetroAccess sedan carrying an adult female passenger in the 500 block of Shepherd Street N.W. The passenger was released unharmed nearby but the suspect kept the car, said police spokesman Officer Hugh Carew.

The suspect was injured when he crashed the vehicle while trying to flee, police. He was then taken into custody.

Shooting suspect wanted in carjacking

One person is dead and two people were injured Friday after a shooting in Northwest D.C.

The shooting, which appears to be a domestic incident, occurred in the 500 block of Madison Street NW.

After the shooting, the suspect carjacked a MetroAccess sedan carrying an adult female passenger in the 500 block of Shepherd Street N.W. The passenger was released unharmed nearby but the suspect kept the car, said police spokesman Officer Hugh Carew.

A helicopter has been called in to help with the search.

Authorities say an adult female, juvenile male and juvenile female were shot in a Madison Street house shortly before 4 p.m. Sources say the juvenile female has died.

The suspect is believed to have carjacked the MetroAccess vehicle while the driver was outside of the sedan.

Police Chief Cathy Lanier says the MetroAccess vehicle is a two-tone, white-over-black 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis. The vehicle has 3910 on the back bumper, and has a D.C. license plate C71 165.

Three shot, one dead in NW D.C. shooting

D.C. police officials Friday are investigating a shooting in the 500 block of Madison Avenue NW.

Authorities say three people, including an adult female, a juvenile male and a juvenile female, were shot.

Sources say the shooting occurred in a home and that the juvenile female shot has died.

Report: 3 shot in NW D.C.

D.C. police officials Friday are investigating a report of three people shot, including two juveniles, in the 500 block of Missouri Madison Avenue NW, near Missouri Avenue.

Authorities say those shot include an adult female, juvenile female and a juvenile male.

Motorists are advised to use alternate streets.

Perhaps when the Federal Governemnt increases the price of bullets to $500 a round, people will only use them to defend their property like the Constitution provides.
