Retired schoolteacher found slain
Anne Arundel County police are investigating the shooting death of a 63-year-old retired schoolteacher in the parking lot of a Glen Burnie shopping center.
Police found the body of 63-year-old Myra Cason inside her vehicle around 11 a.m. Friday. She had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe robbery was the motive. Cason was last seen leaving a doctor's office shortly before 8 a.m. Homicide Detective Michele Mangold says investigators believe the killer was in the car with Cason and forced her to drive to the parking lot around 8:30 a.m. Police believe she had been shot by 8:50 a.m., when a witness saw shattered glass in the parking lot.
